Building up supports for immigrants in WA State

Nina Shapiro’s article, “Trump’s immigration plan: Is WA ready for mass sweeps with state troops?” brings together some of the powerful work across the state for immigrant rights and deportation defense that is being built up with the election in mind.

JCIJ has been helping coordinate volunteers and interpreters for legal clinics for those seeking asylum and Temporary Protective Status.

As Leonardo who fled Angola and attended a recent asylum clinic stated, “I’m already running away from somewhere. If I have to run away from here, I have nowhere else to go.”
